I dropped the ball and didn't apply to Nova Southeastern on time and discovered that the Transfer Student Deadline is on March 1st. I am currently a high school senior at a school in Vermont and I am attending a Vermont State College Full time and earning dual enrollment. When the second semester ends in May 2016 I will have earned 38 College Credits.
My question is can I opt to apply to Nova Southeastern as a transfer student if I have already completed my freshman year of college? I've been searching their site for an answer and it was inconclusive so I e-mailed them a question. Can anyone give me any advice?
A little back ground about me is I made the President's List during my first semester at Vermont Technical College, and had high honors 9th, 10th, and 11th grade of high school. I've been accepted to the University of Vermont into the CAS and earned a full tuition scholarship for UVM, but they do not have a Physician's Assistant Program like Nova does. I was reading that if I apply as a transfer student, then the academic merits that I earn/earned at Vermont Tech will qualify me for some financial aid from Nova Southeastern.
Since I know of no Nova SE admissions officers who post/read here, may I suggest your answers will be answered with a telephone call on Monday?
Yes, that’s a good suggestion! Thank you!
The Physician Assistant program at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is a Master’s program, which requires a Bachelor’s Degree. I fail to see what advantage NSU would offer over doing your BS at UVM and the applying to NSU for their PA program (or any other University PA program). UVM is offering you full tuition scholarship, so it appears that doing your undergraduate degree at UVM and graduate degree elsewhere, MIGHT be the most cost effective approach.
In Florida, Miami-Dade College doesn’t require a bachelor’s degree, although you are required to complete the required prerequisites before applying to their program. Technically, if you have complete d all the prerequisites at Vermont State College, you could apply to the Miami-Dade College PA program by the November 15 deadline.
