I want to show colleges that I did play a certain sport. I got cut from the basketball team so played recreation basketball for 3 years.
Can I include this my activities section?
Yes, definitely. That would be just like any other “no cut” activity like being in a club, scouts, martial arts, or volunteering, etc. Colleges just want to know that you have interests and get involved in other things besides school. Playing a rec sport isn’t all that different that playing a club sport IMO anyway. Also, any kind of sport requires motivation and teamwork, which are good traits to have.
