Can I put this for my 'additional information'?

For the short answers section, the third question is:
OPTIONAL: Any information you believe is relevant to our consideration of you as an applicant, but not already discussed or explained in your application.

can i talk about my bicultural background (ie. chinese and american)? The way I wrote it is kind of sentimental and a bit ‘story-like’. Is that OK, or would it be better if I just wrote something like “The fact that I am both Chinese and American helps me understand the traditions and values held by both cultures.”

Any thoughts on this?

Guys I really need some imput on this please!!!

I think this would be a fine topic for essays and such…if you want to include this in the additional information section, make sure you back up your statement with details (for example, HOW did your background help you?) rather than just stating the fact that “it did help you”.

What mimizist said. A story about your background can be good for a relevant essay topic, but I’m not so sure about putting it as additional information since many USC students are bi- (and sometimes tri- or more) cultural and it may not stand out as much as you want it to there.
