When I log-in to CC and I read a number of posts then go to reply to a post if I take too long typing the post it makes me log in again to submit the post. Why do I get logged out and is there a setting where I can make this a longer time before it logs me out?
Evidently there is a time limit for the log-in if you don’t do certain activities. I usually have several pages of reading to catch up on and if I sign in before reading threads, then post when I’m caught up with reading I’m usually required to log in again to submit post. I’ve gotten into the habit of not logging in until I’m ready to post, but it would be nice not to have to remember to log in just before typing a post.
Hi there, VAMom…we are sorry for your trouble. Unfortunately, there is not a way for members to reset this timeout period. Many sites have such a timeout period not only for security purposes, but also to preserve bandwidth across the server. You may try checking the “Remember Me” option upon logging in, as that will hopefully make subsequent log-ins less inconvenient for you.
Thank you for being a part of our online community!
I came here looking for an answer to the same question.
I often go several days without reading CC, then catch up. While reading, I am timed out and have to log back in.
Checking the “remember me” option removes the need to log back in, but leaves me unable to easily see the new threads and posts. After being summarily dismissed from CC, the “go to first new post” button is gone. I have to look at the time stamp of the last post on each thread, go to the last page, then page back to the point where I last visited the thread. This is frustrating.
A longer timeout period would be greatly appreciated.
