Okay so I’m a freshman trying to transfer out of Temple Univ. and I can’t because a check that i sent to pay off my balance was stolen and altered by an unknown person, possibly a temple univ. employee and i dont have anymore money to replace the money that was stolen. I did report the check stolen but it will take 3-4 months for processing. By 3-4 months i will miss another semester of school and I can’t wait that long. Anyways, i’m unable to transfer without my transcript and i only have 8 college credits (general chemistry and gen.ed arts). Is it possible to start over as a freshman at another college?

Some colleges will allow you to enter as a freshman but others will designate you as a transfer. You’ll have to contact each one to find out how they view it. You will in all cases be required to send your grades from your current college. They will not release your grades until your account is cleared up. Contact your current college to see what’s happening with the replacement check.

If you’ve done a year of post-HS full time study at Temple, then you would be considered a transfer applicant to any school. If you have completed less than a year of full time study, then some schools will let you apply as a fr, you need to check college websites.

Follow ED’s advice and talk to your school about getting this cleared up, otherwise you’re stuck without the ability to send transcripts.
