^^^Don’t advise him/her to do that! As someone with interest in law enforcement, I think it’s a REALLY bad idea to lie. You could reach out to your local department and talk to them about it or request their employment guidelines.

I don’t think he would have to lie. They will ask if he has ever been arrested and the answer is no. They might ask if he is currently using drugs, and he says he can say no. Certainly they will test him and he will have to pass, of course. I suspect most departments purposely avoid asking the “have you ever” question because of these kinds of situations. @bryan9234824234
@bryan9234824234…@fallenchemist’s statement is not my understanding. Most police departments DO ask these questions during a polygraph–though not all states allow this. So, tell the truth. Whether you can become a police officer varies among police departments. Often you can find out the policies in advance.
