Can I still change my score after I submit my application?

Hi everyone
I want to apply for columbia ED, but I only hv SAT 1920 and my predicted grades for IB. (I am an international student) I wonna do SAT2 and then SAT 1 again later on. But in my city the Oct test is full so I can only sit SAT2 in Nov and SAT1 again in Dec. I was just wondering if I would be able to send my score after I submit my application.(for example, can I use my new score for regular decision?)

For ED all tests must be completed by the November test date. The ED decision will not consider any December tests. If the ED decision is defer until regular admission then you can submit Dec tests and they will be considered for regular admission. However, the ED decision could be a rejection and that is final and you won’t be considered for regular admission. Thus, if you apply ED you should not assume you will actually get to regular admission and have the Dec test considered.

Thank you very much for your reply, it’s really helpful. May I just ask

With SAT 1 1920 SAT2 probably around 2300
IB predicted 43/45
2 school acadamic excellence award
1 state math high distinction
1 national writing 3rd prize
Student Committee—- Director of Study
First cello in 3 orchestras
Participation in Young Achievement Australia Business Skills Program
Participation in Bond University High School Mooting Competition
Participation in the United Nations Youth Association of Australia
Ambassador of the UNYA School Program
Member of The United Nation Children’s Fund
Volunteer at The Salvation Army
Ambassador of Red Cross
School International Club
Work experience at an international firm
and an experience of high school in both China and Australia

Do you think that I should take the risk to apply for ED?
Coz if i will definitely be rejected, I would like to wait for the RD so that I can hv a better SAT score.
Thanks

A higher SAT score would help a lot. Is there any way for you to take the ACT before the ED deadline?

Unfortunately, no, I don’t think I will be able to do that. I will standbyfor the Oct test though.
Btw, the deadline of columbia ED is 11/1/2010, will they still accept Nov result?

Every school’s website states the date of testing they will consider. For ED, Columbia says November test date acceptable.

To help your risk/benefit evaluation for the ED round, consider that the middle 50% of the current freshman class scored between 2100-2330.
