This is my senior year so i’m really confused about college
The colleges i want to get into have a minimum requirement that states you can only have a minimum of c for a letter grade
well in my freshmen year i slacked off and got a d in algebra 2 honors
its my senior year and i’m really regretting it now
UGH
what can i do to still get accepted
can i even do anything?

As the saying goes, “Change your attitude and you change your life.” BTW, lots of colleges forgive a bad freshman year.

You can call or email the colleges you are considering and ask if they consider frosh year grades, and also to discuss your situation.

Many ad coms will overlook a course, especially freshman year, if the rest of the application is stellar, essays well writeen, EC’s stand out, standardized scores within range, student is a good fit for the university…one poor grade will not cancel out all of the positives. Go for it.

Just contact those colleges and tell them very simply something like “I got a D in my freshman year of high school. Is there any reason that I should apply to your institution?”
