Can I still get in? I got a one C+ ,one B-

Hi,

I was wondering if inceton. I am a freshman and I am taking French, all required courses for ninth graders and honors pre-calculus BC. Do I still have chance to go to princeton? The issue is I have been placed too high in French and I got in to French 2 last trimester. So I got a C+. I was moved down to French 1 and I really forgot the basics being so enwrapped in the hard stuff from French 2. So, I have B- (81%) and I was wondering if I can still get in to any ivy league now. I can try pull a 85-87% by the end of the trimester. I know I have A or A+ in every other course right now. I intend on getting an A in french 1 next trimester. But, my GPA will take a hit but, I have 3 years a head of me. I have some fantastic ECs right another club Also, I will be the president of two clubs next year. Also, I will be co-president of another club next year. Do, I still have a chance or am I screwed?

I think that you still have a chance, as many colleges such as Princeton use what is known as holistic admissions process, so you aren’t completely thrown out just because of your grades. My advice to you is to try to focus and get as good as grades as possible and make sure that your standardized test scores are also competitive. Princeton is also one of my top choices… good luck to you!

Sophomore and junior matter more. Fwiw, my son always had his lowest grades in French classes, iirc usually a B+. It did not seem to hurt him.
