I have two Ds on my transcript because of APUSH sophomore year and an IB class I’m taking this year (junior). I’m a B/C student and my GPA’s like a 3.28 unweighted. So far, I’ve taken three AP classes and two IB classes with the rest being honors. Although I didn’t take the SAT yet, I’m predicting around a 1100 based on my PSAT but I’m definitely gonna retake it during the summer. Can I still get into midtier colleges like UIC, DePaul, Loyola, or any college in general?
Yes, but what is your home state and what can your family pay?
BTW, CC could be a good economic decision.
If you have two D’s on your transcript and a 3.28 unweighted GPA, then you must also have quite a few A’s. If I am doing the math right in my head, assuming that a D counts as a 1, and an A counts as a 4, then it takes 3 A’s for every D to end up with a 3.28.
You also should do some SAT preparation before taking the test, and work hard to get your GPA up if you can.
If I am computing this correctly, then you should be able to get into some decent 4 year universities. However, I am more familiar with northeast schools rather than the ones that you mentioned.
