Can I still try my junior and senior to get into a good college

What are my chances to get enroll to a good college. My school doesn’t really offer honor biology I would do that class sense I do well on it, but it doesn’t. So, im 10th grade my grades are in all 80% b average (about to be) and I take 6 classes.
Biology - 77%
ESL - 80%
Math (Geometry) - 77%
English - 77%
Medical Assistanting - 92%
U.S history- 79%

Plus I didn’t enroll myself in any honors and AP classes for junior year.

And freshman year I had a 2.9 gpa

My 2 older kids both have/had averages that hovered on either side of 80, depending on when you looked.

You won’t be looking at any of the competitive schools that we read so much about here. But there are so many wonderful schools for kids like you.

for starters.

A “good school” is one that’s good for YOU. One where you can get in, can afford, and can see yourself living and learning for 4 years.

Listen to bjkmom. There are many good colleges, some even ones you may not have heard of before.

Home state?
Test scores?
EC’s? Intended major?
What can you and your family afford to pay each year?
Household income? Do you qualify for need-based aid?

Small/Large school? Urban/Suburban/Rural location? Stay in-state or go out of state? Sports/Greek Life? Private or Public University?

Depending upon which college you are interest in going, you will need grades from Freshman through 1st semester Senior year?

Have you visited any schools? If so, what did you like or dislike?

Until you complete Junior year and have test scores, recommendations are useless.

Start with your local in-state schools and see what kind of stats are needed to be competitive. You can look on each schools website for their Freshman profile and you can look at their common dataset for admission information.

Some schools do not consider Freshman year grades in their GPA calculation, but showing improvement over the next 2 years will definitely help your chances at getting into college. A “good” college for you, is one that is affordable, one that you would be happy to attend and where you will be successful. With over 3000 colleges in the US, there is a “good” college for you, but you need to do some research.

What state are you from?

There are many many colleges that would be good for you! Yes, it is worth trying a bit more junior senior year to give yourself more chances for colleges. If you do better Junior year, colleges will see that you have what it takes to do college level work.

Even so, I don’t take honors junior year colleges will still see I improved.

Well by the end of Junior year, that is it unless you take a gap year.

Next year, take chemistry, English or honors English, a foreign language, algebra2, world/global history, and art (history, performing etc).

@MYOS1634 @uLenihyu23 is taking ESL (English as a Second Language?) so I’m assuming he or she is already fluent in another language. Is foreign language still necessary or could the OP test out of the native language to substitute for FL?
