Can I submit my CSS profile/other financial aid documents after their deadline?

Last year, I had a few friends applying who said they would submit their CSS profiles/other fin aid docs after the deadlines. Yes, they still got accepted to the big schools. And they submitted their forms after that. If you know your family lies is a very very very small income bracket, is it okay to submit the profile after you get your decision in case they’d reject you coz you’re too poor?

If they would “reject you coz you’re too poor”-- then how are you planning to pay for that school?

I think you’re running a huge risk by choosing to ignore any deadlines in this process.

Even deep pocket schools have limited budgets. If you are in a low income bracket and submit your paperwork in late you could be missing out on SEOG and Federal work study, where you can literally lose thousands of dollars in aid because this is disbursed on a first come first served basis for eligible students.

And as noted…if you need financial aid to attend college…it does you NO GOOD to get an acceptance without it. Apply for the aid. And do it ON TIME.
