Can i sue the dean of students for accusing me of cheating and giving me F with no evidence

so the teacher assistant gave the exams in the wrong order or whatever there were two versions A and B and 4 people at a table and he accused us of switching but we had no reason to switch the exams would still be different if we did they compared our papers to the people sitting next to us and there was nothing similar and we did better. Now the TA keeps saying he’s 100% sure he didn’t give wrong order but i dont see any other way. The Dean of students told me that i might have to take an F which i’m not accepting this was a very hard class (Strength of Mechanics) worked very hard in it and i am not retaking it since i didn’t cheat. Can i sue i really don’t care about the money as long as I get the grade i deserve. the professor who teaches that class got fired as well so he will not be involved its just the TA

I don’t understand - why was the professor “fired as well”? What did he have to do with the incident?

no the professor was not fired because any of this he was fired right couple weeks before school was over for a different reason he had nothing to do with this

Sue!!! I’d be pissed too!!

^ Would not take legal advice from high school seniors.

Your reputation for integrity is priceless. If you didn’t cheat, protecting it is worth whatever it costs, IMHO

What I would the Dean of students is that you didn’t cheat and would be happy to take another version of the test to prove that you know the material.

How do you have the money to sue? This doesn’t sound like something a lawyer would take on contingency. If you want to sue, I hope you’ve got at least 10k+ set aside for legal bills at a bare minimum.

Offer to retake the test. If you studied as hard as you say you did, it should go fine.

You can sue if you want of course, but that’s costly, time consuming.

an update, i did offer to retake the exam she said no that’s not going to do anything. but after bringing up that i’m not accepting an F and sent her 3 emails explaining the whole situation and how it’s just logical no cheating happened she just gave me the grade i deserved.

Good job advocating for yourself!

Wow what a weird situation

Glad to hear it worked out!

Glad you got it settled. Nice job.

Huh, that is a bizarre situation. I am glad it worked out for you in the end.
