Can I take Military Science courses even though I'm not in ROTC?

I’ve always been really interested in military science. I’m graduating this year… and I really just want to get a taste of this stuff before I leave UCLA forever and will probably never come close to taking such a class. There are no enrollment restrictions, but is it generally open for non-ROTC students? I don’t want to be the only non-ROTC student in the class either… that’d be kind of awkward.

Thanks in advance for any feedback/input!

I am a first year cadet, and there are a few civilians in our classes, only the first two years of military science courses can be taken by non-cadets, for the 100 series classes, you must be a cadet. The civilians aren’t looked down upon or anything like that, and it is an interesting course, not to mention an easy A.
Note: I assume this is the same for Army, although I am an AF cadet, so I’m not sure. The classes for the different branches are as follows:

Army: Military Science
Air Force: Aerospace Studies
Navy: Naval Science

Thanks ckm! I just enrolled in MILSCI 12… Looking forward to it! Do you know if it’s mainly classroom lectures, or would there be any fieldwork involved as well??

ckm, are you going to enlist after graduating from ucla?

To answer PXalpine, the class is just lectures, field work is only done by cadets in a separate class. And yes, I plan to enlist after college.
