Can I transfer from Harold washignton city college to any Four year school in the U.S ?

I have been thinking of going to a community college in Chicago, but I am not sure if it is a good idea because I want to study in Harold Washignton for one year and then transfer to the university of Miami or any other good university in the U.S.

Although I have been accepted to the university of Arizona, California state University at los angelles, but if they are worth the moving to. Also, I am not sure if it’s time for me to move from Chicago because I love it here and wanna stay one more year or so and then transfer to any good school in Engineering.

Money is not an issue.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Arizona is definitely a school worth transferring to!

Did you mean Miami (OH) or Miami FL

If money is not an issue and you are happy in Chicago, pay a visit to the Transfer Advisor’s office at Harold Washington and find out where students transfer to from there.

There are two solid engineering schools justa few blocks from Harold Washington College, UIC and IIT. Both of them have articulation agreements with HWC and that gurantees that certain courses you take will count towards specific degrees. This is not automatically the case for other schools outside Illinois. Nevertheless, you should be able to transfer to other schoolse elsewhere in the US and transfer most of your credits if you take the right courses.

xraymancs I assume that you are studying or studied in IIT. If so, did you go to HWC and then transferred to IIT ?

I meant the University of Miami in Miami FL

@Shadow001 - Actually, I am a professor of physics at IIT and I have advised students (including transfer students for engineering) from the Chicago City Colleges including HWC for many years.

xraymancs- Is it easy to transfer from HWC to IIT ?
How many credits do I need to have to transfer ? ( The minimum )

@Shadow001 sorry to have missed your last post. @happymomof1 is correct, those links list all the course equivalents between Chicago City Colleges and IIT. it is pretty straightforward.
