To start this off, my current GPA is a 1.7 and I’m a second semester sophomore attending a SUNY college. I’m still waiting on my grades to be posted this weekend but I’m anticipating on getting over a 3.5 this semester so I won’t be on academic probation anymore.
Basically my boyfriend of the time got jealous one night and started beating on me. He told his roommates to call University Police because I “attacked” him since he had cuts on him from my attempts of trying to get him off of me. I panicked and left the scene because I was just in shock and scared. I didn’t want to talk about it to anybody, especially not the police so that gave him the upper hand and he lied about it all. Yes, I had a couple bruises and he lied about the few ones that I had and said those were self inflicted.
Nobody believed what had happened to me and I was suspended from the residence halls till Fall 2016 but was allowed to finish the semester and attend classes as a commuter. I’ve been living in my car since the beginning of November for about a month and then in December, my friend told me I could stay with him on campus even though I was banned. Basically his roommate told on me and now I’m suspended from the residence halls and the college for the semester of Spring 2016. They said they will also place a Dean of Students hold on my account but I checked & it hasn’t been placed yet. I’m already behind because of my shitty grades from freshmen year and I don’t want to take a semester off.
I was wondering if I could just transfer to a community college like Suffolk or Queensborough for the Spring and then try my luck at another college afterwards. Will my college even send my transcript to other schools while I’m on disciplinary suspension? Even if they do, would the CC accept me while I’m still suspended?
Also, what are my chances of getting into Stony Brook anymore? I had planned to apply for Fall 2016 but I don’t think they’ll accept me anymore with my suspension on my transcript.
