Can I transfer to a UC as a sophomore with one semester of CC?

I am currently attending a small liberal arts college out of state and am planning on going abroad for my sophmore fall semester, I am still enrolled in my current institution. I really want to transfer into a uc for my junior year but I am unable to attend a CC for my full sophomore year. Would it be possible to transfer into a uc my junior year if I do my spring semester only at a CC?

@Gumbymom

Are you saying you are going to withdraw from your current four year college and go to a CC for one semester of sophomore year?

Also…wouldn’t you be transferring as a junior if you finish two years of college? Your thread title says “sophomore”.

@jorgemartin35

You can attend a CC for a semester but if it is not a California CC and you do not complete at least 30 semester/45 quarter units prior to matriculation, you do not receive CCC priority in the transfer hierarchy. You would be low priority based on your LAC transcript.

That said, there are no specific UC course articulation agreements except for a CA CC so you would need to try and match your courses to the UC transfer requirements. Your best chance would be attending for the full year.
