I attended a big state school (penn state - university park) and struggled badly my first semester and had a 1.6 gpa. But then did much better my second semester and got a 3.0 gpa. Then I got sick badly during my third semester and my cumulative gpa went from 2.5 to 1.8. I tried making it up in my fourth semester but I ended up back in the hospital for two weeks when I had 19 credits including physics, organic chem, and calc IV. I had a 1.7 gpa at the end of my fourth semester and my college kicked me out of the program.

I’m at a community college right now and my health seems (mostly) stable knocks wood and I’m usually a decent student and I think I’ll do pretty well. I really don’t want to go back to my state school because I really couldn’t deal with the huge lectures and how impersonal everything was. But, they said that provided I keep a 3.0 at the community college, I can go back.

I want to transfer to another college though. Will my awful gpa at my four-year keep me from getting into another four-year? I am really interested in Boston College.
