Can I Use FAFSA From 2010?

Back when I applied to UCSD out of highschool, I didn’t get in, but was awarded $8,000 from FAFSA (Summer of 2010).

I went to community college and now I got into UCSD. I didn’t receive any financial aid from FAFSA this time around; but I wondering if it were possible to take the $8,000 I got from FAFSA in 2010 and use it now when I transfer this fall.

If so, how?

Thanks

First…FAFSA doesn’t give you money. The financial aid award comes from the specific college.

Second, money awarded in 2010 was for that school year only.

No you can’t use the old FAFSA. The FAFSA is submitted annually with the information from the previous tax year and your current assets. For the upcoming year, you need to submit the 2012-2013 FAFSA which includes your income information from 2011. What happened in 2010 is not any longer relevant for financial aid purposes.

No, you can’t.
