So I took my SAT 3 times and my highest score turned out to be a 1390 with a 20/24 on the essay. I want to try taking the ACT in October as my last chance but I’m debating on if I should take w/ essay or not. The only school on my list now that recommends it is Emory University. If I get a higher ACT score, can I send my sat w/ essay and have them use that instead of ACT writing? Will my 1390 hurt my app? Will they even look at my SAT scores if my ACT is high enough? I really don’t want to take the ACT writing since I’m already so burned out from these standardized tests. What should I do?

I would take the SAT again. You can take the Nov 3rd and Dec 1st and the scores would be received in time.
As far as I know colleges will not mix and match across the SAT and ACT. Your SAT is low for Emory

Either retake the SAT or try the ACT.
