Can I vent here? (Worst teacher I've ever met)

OK Listen.

You are a high schooler and she is an adult. She pointed at you. God forbid. You are all hormonal and now are trying to say you deserve respect? That is laughable.

No matther what you think of her, she has control over your grade. You are just plain stupid to demand respect from her. She should be demanding respect from her students.

Oh and by the way, the AP tests are hard, and if you openly admit you hadn’t learned anything… that is your fault. Yes, yes, “Oh but she is a bad teacher boo hoo”. Suck it up. Teach yourself.

And quit using this board to cry about hormonal outbursts you have at school.

If the teacher wants respect, she has to give it as well or she won’t get any. It works both ways. I know you’re probably angered that some “lowly child” would dare ask for respect from the esteemed, mighty teacher, who is never wrong by virtue of being an adult, but oh well.

The lowly child yelled at the teacher, because the teacher pointed a finger at them. Pointing a finger. Not giving the finger. Pointing it.

You don’t have to grovel, but to lose it because someone pointed a finger, jeesh

Pointing at someone and scolding them (with eye contact) is intended to be confrontational. The teacher did this repeatedly. What did she expect?

It seemed like Ivyleague’s post was saying in general that a student shouldn’t dare demand respect from a teacher (not just in this case, but all cases); that’s what I was responding to.

Yea ok, I was always the A+ student and she expect a lot out of me? what do you want? 100% on every test u give? and yea duh I have to self study. or else I would’ve been dead learning nonsense out of her. By the way I’ve always been nice to her but I don’t see any reason for her finger pointing rudeness. Like hey, do I point at you when I call on u? uh obviously no. You people may think I’m “low”, but how would you feel when you give respect for a teacher and the teacher dont give any respect to you? if you don’t have experience u don’t have to post. By the way I said Can I vent here, not Can I cry here. It’s obviously for “lower” people to cry over teacher like she is. No one in our class like her. Cuz we obviously didn’t learn out of her (yea there’s a lot of people going to afterschool tutoring outside and saturday schools for help). If she can’t show respect for us, then don’t expect it back. Ever heard of Hammurabi’s Code, an eye for an eye? well that’s what it is. For the past 2 years we gave her respect but obviously now, game over you lose. We’re not gonna give you anymore respect. Maybe go back to your mommy and learn some table manners first.

I’m suprised at your reaction to Eva’s problem citygirlsmom. This is definitely a legit reason to get upset about. First of all, no teacher should randomly blurt out that a specific student did bad on a test. In fact, even if the kid is failing a class, the teacher can’t say anything out in the open in their class but they can call the student’s parents. Thats one bad thing she did.

Next, she pointed at the student consecutively. How would you feel if I pointed at you out of the blue in a restaurant for no reason citygirlsmom??? Pointing is rude, basic kindergarten manners.

Finally, I agree, this is not something to get majorly upset about. However, girls are more emotional than guys are. So, I can easily imagine that a female student would not react well to this sort of treatment by a female teacher.

Eva: Talk to your teacher and work things out if possible, this is not that big of a deal that you should approach higher authority. However, if the disrespect continues, go directly to your principal and talk to him/her about your issues. Maybe you can switch out of her class,

I hope things work out.

i tend to agree with citygirlsmom.

to me, this point the teacher gave sounds more like a directional point, even if she didn’t have to do it, as opposed to a threatening point. Again, I am not saying that pointing is not rude, but pointing doesn’t mean that a chewing out is necessary. personally, i’ve never considered pointing a big deal unless the pointing is in a taunting way.

Although I feel the op is over reacting to this situation, I think citygirlsmom’s reponses epitomize the ignorance that comes with the wraths of age. Citygirlsmom, you seem to think that the teacher deserves respect simply because she is an adult. Seriously, stop treating us like immature teenagers already.

If teenagers (or anyone for that matter) want to be treated like mature, reponsible adults, then they have to act like an adult. Yelling at someone because they pointed at you (not fingered, pointed) is not mature, adult behaviour.

I’m not saying that what the teacher did was right (from what’s been posted, it seems like she singled out one student in front of the class to crticize for a bad test score), but the student’s reaction certainly wasn’t right either.
