Can I write about Yale medical school as the reason I'm applying to Yale?

Or does that not make sense since I am an undergraduate? I have two versions of the short answer to the question of “why yale”? and one of them is about how I want to go to Yale’s medical school, etc, the other is more general, about other clubs/aspects of Yale that I like. Which should I use? Also anyone who’s not currently applying and wants to read them and help me decide please pm me, help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks.

You’d tank your application. Yale Med admission has nothing directly to do with attending Yale College. It’s like saying your dream is to be an astronaut so that’s why you’ve chosen Yale College.

You’ll display your lack of this knowledge right off the bat and you’ll be seen in a bad light.

Go the club route and good luck.

well they ask why are you applying to yale college, not yale medical school. you could go anywhere and still go to yale medical school. you can mention it maybe towards the end of your why yale, but the bulk should be about why you want to be an undergrad at yale.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. College Confidential is a lifesaver
