Can ‘it’ refer to a gerund?
For example, is this sentence correct?
“Studying like that was a thing of the past, now it isn’t suitable”

yeah, it works.

I have another question.

If a participle modifies a subject, can ‘and’ be inserted like this:

You are now going to die, saving your friend.
You are now going to die, and saving your friend

Is that right?

(I heard this sentence in a film)

um… should it be not ‘You are now going to die saving your friend’? (without the comma). The second one, I’m pretty sure, is grammatically incorrect… ‘Saving’ does not agree with ‘and’… the best it could be would be ‘You are now going to die, and save your friend’… but that doesn make sense now, does it ![]()
Hope this helps…
