What the title says. And I guess any other special recognition NU may give.

Murphy Scholars are McCormick students - what do you mean by your post?

[Northwestern University - the Murphy Institute](http://murphyinstitute.mccormick.northwestern.edu/)

I guess you can compete with Murphy Scholars but they get special opportunities. They get really close with their advisors/mentors/teachers (equals great recommendation) and they get great internship opportunity. The opportunity for research for them is great.

Sorry, I’ll clarify. Can I (a non-Murphy student) have the same opportunities as a Murphy Scholar? I know it’ll be harder for me, but do I still have a chance at the same internships and research? Or am I completely blocked out from them?

you can be anything you want to be all you need is determination

The only significant advantage they have is the research opportunities but as the above poster said if you want to do it, you can :)

No your not, but it’s just going to be harder to find research and internship.
