what happens if I can not take all the honor/ AP classes I want because my current teachers did not reccomend me to take the higher courses? Will Colleges penalize me for this? I have taken 3 honors classes so far, and next year I plan on taking 2 AP’s and 1 honors class.

anyone?? can sum1 reply please

Then you probably didn’t show that you had the ability to succeed in them, so you won’t be so much penalized as you just won’t look like as good an applicant as someone who did show they were able to. But it won’t mean as much past 1st tier schools.

If I take some advance classes outside my school, would that make up for my semi-tough course load? Because I am taking an Advanced writing class at Stanford University and I plan on taking a couple college level courses at some local colleges.

bump…

It really won’t matter, as long as you take a competitive number of AP classes, you won’t be affected just because you didn’t take that specific class.

You should be able to waive yourself into those AP Courses; at least you can at my school.

You can also self-study for AP courses and take the corresponding AP tests, if you are motivated to do so.

Just so that we know the details and can advise you better – what AP classes did you not get into and what were the classes you took this year? what grades did you get this year?
