Can other colleges that you apply to see the scholarships that other schools have offered you?

Just wondering if that influences the scholarship amount that they award you.

No.

Think about it…how could other schools see that info?

Well, considering that everything is now online, you never know. Thanks for the feedback.

Your financial aid awards are on your private student portal online…with a username and password. Not open to the public.

Because… you think colleges are hacking into other college portals to find out? “Everything is online” is a pretty lazy and sweeping statement. Think…

Yes…our banking is online, grades are online, tax filing can be online…if everything can be seen because it’s “online,” then suddenly institutions couldn’t put anything private online.

In defense of the student, there’s a big misconception passed around high schools (by parents! and guidance counselors too!) that schools will care what other schools give you in aid. In reality, this only works with peer schools (if at all). But because of that idea, and because of how you send the FAFSA to multiple schools at once, many students are under the impression that financial aid data is shared among colleges.

My question was answered, everyone, so thank you. C’est fini.
