Can Sean sneak into UVA?

Why, good day, ye poster. I’m Sean from Connecticut, and thanks for clicking on my thread. So, I know the chances are slim, but I’m interested in YOUR opinion on the likelyhood of me gaining admission to the University of Virginia. I personally hate reading long posts myself, so I’ll keep this as short as possible.

Qualitatives
[ul]
[li]Pretty dramatic upward trend in grades. Mostly Bs my frosh. year, mostly As my sophomore year, with a C- in Precalc and a C+ in Chorus (which I subsequently dropped), all As and two Bs first semester junior year, then only one B second semester. I pulled off a 4.0 first quarter of this semester. With a little luck, I’ll be able to hold that down for for the midyear reports.
[/li]

[li]I’m the Media Director of the NHS, I’m the trumpet section leader in the school band, I’m the Captain of the Robotics Team, and I have varsity letters in Crew, Cross Country, Soccer, and Track.
[/li]

[li]Band: 9-12; Drama Club: 9-12; Model UN: 10-12; Soccer: 9,11,12; Crew: 9,10; Cross Country: 10; Track: 11,12; NHS: 11,12; Relay for Life: 10-12
[/li]

[li]I have won 4 subject awards at my school, a few writing awards on the regional and state levels, the scholar athlete award all four years, and was MVP of the crew team my sophomore year
[/li]

[li]I’m interested in joining Virginia’s marching band and met with the band director to that end. I’m going to be completing and sending him a trumpet cd this week.
[/li]

[li]Essays: To tell the truth, I’m not really certain if my essays are/will be spectacular, good, or average. I know I can write coherent English and I’m not going to send in something that’s totally abstract and hackneyed. I’m still working on my essays for Virginia (spending lots of time), so, hopefully, that will show through.
[/li]

[li]** Recommendations**:Once again, can’t really say. I elected not to read the recommendations untill I’ve sent everything off. I’m sending three teacher recs total. Of the three teachers who are writing them, two of them volunteered to write recommendations. Perhaps that is significant?
[/li]

[li]** Local applicants:**To my knowledge, two girls from my school are also applying to UVA. They are both ranked higher than I, but I’m not sure how the SATs compare. I don’t think any other boys are applying, though.
[/li]

[li]**Courseload:**The most demanding possible for all four years. This year, I am taking “co-op” University of Connecticut courses. They are: Calculus (Math 115-116), Physics (Phys 121-122), English (Engl 110), History (Hist 101) and French (Fren 267-268). I’m also taking honors band. Last year, I took UConn stat, so I’ll have 32 credits at UConn when I graduate.[/li][/ul]

Well, that’s all I have. I’m sorry I did not meet the standards of brevity aspired to earlier, but I can’t say I really thought I’d live up to them in the first place. Thanks for playing, and I hope to read your opinion sometime in the future.

ouch. I would presonally reject ur arse.

Not even the slimmest hope. Try a different school.

anyone else?

If you accented the college coursework and your “drive” properly on your application, seems like a good target.
