<p>The world we live in today is very tightly controlled, with regulations on everything, for nothing more than to get a pretty penny at the end of the day. This trend has lasted for thousands of years, and unless something completely radical happens to everyones consciousness on the planet, it will continue. Cosmos Incorporated explores what could happen to this world if nothing is done to stop these current trends that have lasted over 4000 years. The little freedom we have today could be completely and easily stripped from us, with the government knowing everything, attempting control over everyone, indoctrinating individuals thoughts, and even their beliefs, without the majority even noticing.</p>
<p>In the near future, the global recession will eventually lead to the Grand Jihad. This struggle ends with a full out nuclear/bacteriological war. It has left the world in a socially shattered state. In an effort to pick up the pieces, an AI based UniWorld is born into North America, with its slogan being One world for all, One god for each. A global computer network is implanted for security, and knowledge purposes. It tracks everyones physical movements, and when necessary, even tracks peoples thoughts via neural scanner, polygraph, etc. Apart from the technology, these security measures are already in effect. There are thousands of cameras mounted in most urban centers of North America, and Europe, some of which are even publicly posted on websites to watch, real-time. In United States (and even in Canada until 2006) police and FBI have the right to tap phone lines, internet, and even confiscate property without a search warrant being presented to the accused until deemed appropriate.</p>
<p>In UniWorld, beliefs such as Judeo-Christianity and communism are strictly prohibited, for such beliefs threaten to overthrow UniWorld. In place, less threatening religions are constructed, each religion bearing an infinite number of gods; thus One god for each. Every personal god is recorded by UniWorld, as a personal identifier. Indoctrination is a paradox that has been around for as long as humans have. Outside of religion, it unconsciously happens in every parent-child relationship, it happens at school, and almost everywhere else. It is a form of control that is practally impossible to be rid of, but it is taken to extreme levels in this day and age. We are made to believe there is a scarcity of resources in this society, and we must compete against each other in order to get what we need, which is completely untrue. The truth is that we need water, food and shelter. In North America, we are too busy producing and playing with our entertainment, when instead, we could be growing our own food, and raising our own livestock. People in North America work all day producing movies, while people in Africa, who never even seen a movie, are starving to death.</p>
<p>As with past governments, the governing system of UniWorld has its faults and corruptions. These flaws are taken advantage of with a blind eye, so long as it doesnt affect UniWorld as a hole. Such corruptions are apparent when trying to leave the planet. Citizens pay extreme amounts of money to private companies for a promised shuttle to live on the Ring, (built in space around earth.) but even after fronting the money, the citizens may have to wait years, or even decades to get there. Many even perish in the wait for the ride, where their bodies are promptly scavenged for any viable organs or body parts to sell on the black market. Although today, our government doesnt turn a blind eye to the black market, it does allow, and even encourages companies to monopolize the general population. This is apparent almost any time one purchases a product, but is usually dismayed as competition. It is one of the reasons why oil prices have recently plummeted. The general population has threatened to stop purchasing oil, and use alternative means of fuel, which would put the oil companies out of business. So they lower the prices, to get more sales, which also eliminate competition from rival sectors, such as the more expensive electric/hybrid car market. </p>
<p>Cosmos Incorporated is where the world could potentially end up in 50 years if peoples greed continues on the trend it has been on over the last 4000 years. Everyone that has been born is going to die. No matter how much, or little information one bears, its not going to aid our passing. It will only prolong it, while raising more questions along the way.</p>
