Can someone experienced review my Common App essay?

I’ve finished the second draft of my Common App essay about a highly influential person. I’m at 960 words right now, so I know I’ll need more revising, but I’d like to get pointed suggestions before I take a hatchet to my essay. I feel that my writing and my subject are powerful enough to keep an admissions officer engaged, and I need to know whether that’s actually the case.

I don’t know if it makes any difference, but I’m applying to UChicago early action.

I’m not sure what standard protocol is for these types of requests, but I guess it would be appropriate to communicate with me through PMs so I can e-mail you my essay.

Thank you in advance.

PM me, i will tell you whether i’m engaged or bored, if it helps

I hope I’m not offending you, wlai, but I think I’d prefer to wait for one of the more experienced posters. I’d rather not be the position of having to worry about the public status of my essay. I don’t know you or any of the CCers personally, so I can only go by their reputation.
