Can someone help me find a university in the US?

Hey guys,
I’ve applied to several universities, including the prestigious ones, but looks like I have no chance in getting accepted there. Other universities I applied to are not that good and I’m not optimistic about them. Since I’m an international student I’m looking for the one that suits my needs regarding the place and the state.

Here’s what I want in the place:

1.Safe, not too much crime.
2.Nice people.
3.Not too much poverty.

I also want the university to be one of the top 100 national universities. (I’d prefer if it was in California, since I heard that it’s good)
I know that the deadline for most of the good ones has ended but I’m sure there are some good ones.

Thanks.

There’s no good colleges that are still accepting applications in California.

Application deadlines are set on January 1st.

Take a gap year and retry next year, but start on time.

I’m also an International Student. Our situatio right now seems to be pretty much the same. Here are a few good colleges that are still accepting applications for fall-14:
Hendrix, Creighton, Hiram, SUNY New Paltz, Juniata, FIT, and Albion
Illinois Institute of technology, UNF, UWF, USF, UCF (Florida).

Come to understand what 90% of the college-educated people in the US know: With 3000+ colleges in the US, it doesn’t matter where you go to college as long as you fit. It matters what YOU do when you get there. Save your money for a good grad school. Only applicants, for the most part, don’t understand this.

Which universities have you applied to? We could tell you whether they’re “not that good” indeed, or if it’s a false perception. If you gave us your stats (GPA, test scores) that’d help, too.

you could apply to a cc and transfer to a UC http://www.sbcc.cc.ca.us/</a> <– that is just the one I had on my computer clipboard because someone else asked that question, but there are cc’s all over California.

You haven’t mentioned what your interests are, or what your academic credentials look like. I know that Evergreen State College, in Olympia, WA, is supposed to be a lovely school with a very high acceptance rate.
