Can Someone Help Me?

Hello,

I am struggling with the sat math section. If anyone knows what materials or books they could recommend me to get better at the math section would be immensely helpful. Thank you.

bump

anyone? Thank you

Look up the books on Amazon that say like 500 or 1000 problems for the SAT/ACT. I’m pretty sure some brands might even sell books that focus solely on a specific section of the SAT, which tends to be math. But other than that, try Khan Academy, find practice tests on CollegeBoard, and download the app called SAT UP.

Sounds good! Thank you. If anyone else has any other tips on how to improve my score, do tell!

Go over your errors, and learn to solve as many of the problem types as you can. Only work with authentic tests. It’s tedious, but it’s the only way - get help solving the problems that you missed. You will be able to solve some of the ones you missed just by taking another look - others you will need help on. I wouldn’t buy a book on Amazon that may or may not have problems that are similar to the authentic tests. You can waste time struggling over a poorly written question. The Khan Academy has authentic SAT math practice material, and also general help if there is an area of math that you have forgotten or never knew very well.

Agree. On Test Week, review and analysis of problems already worked is far more critical than simply cramming more problems down the throat.

@iwslontsat do you know what you are struggling with specifically? For instance: you are running out of time; you are missing certain types of questions, etc. That would be useful information for anyone wanting to give you some advice.

To understand better what types of math problems you are struggling with, be sure to tally up your math subscores as well as your overall math score. The categories from the answer are Heart of Algebra, Problem Solving and Data Analysis, and Passport to Advanced Math. If you find you are consistently weak in one of these categories, that’s an area to focus on.

Good luck!
