Hello,
Can someone recommend a schedule and resources for scoring a 700+ on the mathematics? I am a very strong math student normally, with A’s and 4’s in two AP maths (Stat and Calc).

But when it comes to these problems, I just can’t wrap my head around the way the questions are worded. If someone could write a brief schedule for studying for Oct. Test that would be great. I want a 700+ so if I plan for a 730 it would give me some buffer bubble protection or whatever you want to call it.

A good strategy is to read the question carefully and interpret it exactly as worded. For example, “Which of the following statements could be true” vs. “Which of the following statements must be true.”

If you know the math but are having trouble with the way the SAT words things, then the only thing to do is pick up the blue book, do a section and then google for help with anything you miss. Item by item, you will come to the realization that the SAT says exactly what it means, every time. You just have to calibrate yourself so that you are not thrown by their presentation. Nothing but practice with authentic material will do that for you. As for a schedule, October is close at hand. Do what you can. If that means one section per day, you are doing great. Just don’t fall into the very common trap of taking tests but skimping on the follow-up analysis. That’s how you will get more comfortable with SAT wording – by successfully decoding problems that stumped you the first time around.
