Can someone please explain this to me?

My EFC is very low:

these are the stats for the college i applied, I am sure i am academically FIT for this school

Financial Aid Statistics

* Full-time freshman enrollment: 380

 • Number who applied for need-based aid: 379

 • Number who were judged to have need: 297

 • Number who were offered aid: 297

 • Number who had full need met: 205

 • Average percent of need met: 93%

 • Average financial aid package: $23,011

 • Average need-based loan: $2,917

 • Average need-based scholarship or grant award: $8,413

 • Average non-need based aid: $17,066

 • Average indebtedness at graduation: $25,012

Does that mean 93% of students with low EFCc get good financial aid package?

It means that on average, students get 93% of the aid they need. The lower your EFC, the better your chances of getting 100% of your need met.

i have 490 on my math section(really terrible didnt study) But the studentd over there withOVER 500 are 98%. Other verbal and writing is average. Can they just reject me due to this? I have one A+ and A in sophomore and junior year regarding mathematics subject(American international in pakistan)

Without seeing the rest of your app or knowing how selective the school is, I can’t tell you for sure.

It really depends on the school and their minimum requirements. A 490 is pretty low - equivilant to about a 19 or 20 on the ACT which would be considered too low for admission to some large State Universities. Math and CR are generally considered more important than writing so your chances would be better if you could increase your math score. Can you retake it?

73% of the applicant get admitted, I have won some awards in debate and essay competitions. Worked in summers. Got great recommendations(I Know, it has to be) and I sent one essay and planning to send another. I also took college courses at high school level. calc. organic chemistry and many other courses in physics. I think i have a chance at this one.

not enough time, i would have. the school is Polytech Ny, its not large though.

Hmm. I don’t know - low math score doesn’t seem great for a science school.

but that doesnt stop someone from getting in? does it? i means its no UC.
