So I was watching this movie and it shows that one smart man took the place of a rich kid at a top school in order to get a degree for the rich kid. I was just wondering can that really happen here? Like a kid enrolls at a school but instead of the him/her going, they send someone else. Won’t the dean or anyone find out or will they get away with it?
FYI, the movie is “3 Idiots”, its an Indian movie.
I mean, it could be possible but if the university found out (which it honestly probably would eventually) ever they’d rescind any diploma. Also it could be a criminal offense (fraud or maybe identity theft).
I hope you’re asking hypothetically.
Well, you can, and it’s likely nobody would ever find out. If you get caught, which might not happen, then you know what fate awaits you. Most people wouldn’t bother doing such a pointless thing for their degree, and because they have integrity. I wish I could pay someone to take all these useless GE classes for me, though.
Yes, and it happens all the time but it’s really boring when it does. Have you ever been to a testing center with a fingerprint scanner? Do you wonder why that is? It’s because people get their friends (or pay someone) to take exams for them all the time and it used to be a huge problem with the SAT and some people think it still is.
@EntranceExamGuy
Fingerprint scanners? Do you guys take exams in maximum security prisons? That’s crazy! Over here in rural town it’s all photo ID…
I wish. I’d rather be in college right now, as opposed to high school
In China there is an entire industry devoted to churning out good scores, essays and eventually if successful, college term papers for those willing to pay enough. Same thing as having someone else do the work for your degree. The problem with your original idea is who would be willing to give up 4 years to earn a degree for someone else. The pay would have to be substantial.
