Can these questions appear on the real SAT test?

One man’s meat is another man’s ----.
(A) dairy
(B) flesh
(C) poison
(D) meeting
(E) prerogative

At first, I took (B) but the correct answer turned out to be (C).
After checking, it’s an idiom.
I’m wondering if this kind of questions, requiring a certain knowledge of hackyened phrases, appears on the Test.

Another question, Is it correct to add this sentence “requiring a certain knowledge of hackyened phrases” as I did on the last sentence.

Anything is possible but I seriously doubt you will get a sentence completion question like that which is made up of purely a saying with idioms.

You are correct to add the phrase you added. What is incorrect is “this kind of questions.” You need to drop the s from questions to agree with the singular “this kind.”

thanks

That’s ridiculous…

similar to “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”

classic aesop ;)
