I just want to know, for when i do transfer if i’m going to be able to pledge for fraternitys.
Does anyone know?

Yes. Why would you expect not to?

As long as you have not been initiated as a member of a social fraternity already, you will be eligible to rush and pledge.

What is a social fraternity?

Your traditional frats are all social fraternities. There are some professional fraternities based around majors or interests, but you can usually be a member of both a professional and a social fraternity.

Well, I’m at a community college right now and there’s a kind of honors club/fraternity thing that you can join if you have a certain gpa. Would that limit me from joining a social fraternity once I transfer out?

No it won’t stop you.

To expound upon Roxsox, there are tons of different greek-based fraternities that are not social fraternities (and many of them are co-ed).
RoxSox mentioned professional fraternities (ie DSP is a business fraternity at my school, AXE is a chemistry fraternity; etc).
Then there are honor fraternities which encompasses what you mentioned (ie TBPi is an engineering honor fraternity that requires a certain class rank).
There are also service-based fraternities (ie APO).

At my school, you can be in both a social fraternity/sorority as well as a non-social greek organization. I do not know any school that forbids that (although I have heard of schools that like to try classify APO as a social fraternity, but it certainly is not).

Alright, sick! Thanks
