Hey everyone I was just accepted into UCSD as an undeclared major but I applied to get into Computer Science. I will pursue getting into that program however I was wondering if I could still get a loan as an undeclared major? What are the eligibility requirements? My Fafsa was filled out on time, I’m independent and have an EFC of 0. Even after all the help I receive I will still need about $10k extra a year to get by. As an undeclared major can I get loans? Also I’ve used up most of my Cal Grant at my local community college, once that reaches its max will it be replaced by the university grant? Thanks!
Yes; federal loan eligibility does not depend on type of major or even having a major.
Are you talking about the Direct Loans? If so, you can get $9500 in Direct Loans for,your first year in college.
What other aid do you have?
Did you fill out FAFSA? Did you get an aid pkg from your school? If you’re instate and you have an EFC 0, then there should be loans in your FA pkg already.
