Can we find out where we are on the waitlist?

Or will they have no idea until their final class enrolls

also, i marked undecided, if they’re short on potential majors, wouldn’t it be possibly better to have marked something

and do they show any type of preference to legacies

They say that the waitlist is not ranked. That’s it!! You wouldn’t get any better answer from anyone including the UChicago admissions people.

Good Luck!! Hope you get in!

Thanks!
My friend said his sibling found out where she was on te waitlist via her counselor communicating with the regional counselor
This was with another school though (ivy)

Bumppppppppp

The waitlist is not ranked, as has been said.

Can someone explain if it’s possible for a list to not be ranked or if it’s just the politically expedient version of a parent saying " no kids, I love you all the same "?

I mean, if it wasn’t ranked then, every single time a spot opened up a wait list they would need to just thousands of students all over again, which is absurd.

It is unranked. This question has been asked a million times. When the college starts pulling students from the waitlist, they pull students of certain academic interests or whatever demographic that they are short on. For example, if there are less theatre students, they will take someone with an interest or intended major regarding theatre.

Also, it can’t really be confirmed but many people believe that students who do not request financial aid, and are on the waitlist, have a better shot.
