… and keep it focused on discussion about Duke? I won’t provide any ego boosters to anyone; besides, there’s a separate forum for that.

I agree!

If you want chances, there is a forum called “What are my Chances” if I’m not wrong

To keep your wishes could you answer a question for me: Is Duke’s polisci program any good and why?

[Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Gerst+Program+Duke)

Blakebengal, if you don’t think it is good, then don’t apply.

I never said I didn’t think it was good, I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking, and hookem that didn’t really help.

Ok so here is the dirt. Duke polisci isn’t exactly the strongest at Duke (Duke’s strongest majors are at it’s bio, chem and BME) but it is amazing when compared to other schools. It is nationally renowned and yes if I want to pull up a ranking to show you, Duke is constantly in the top 10. It is a great program at Duke and if you want to do Polisci, Duke is a great place to study it.

duke’s polisci was actually recommended to students by the counselors at my school. it’s a pretty solid program :)

and hey guys be nice to the prospective dukies

Perhaps we can compromise and have one chances thread…

I think if we boycott all chance threads, then people might stop posting chance threads on this forum…

the main problem is that they clutter up the forum and make it hard to find the good threads :)

I only posted that chance thread to know what I need to improve. I was hoping for responses from current students, not “I’d say your chances are… now chance me back [insert link].”

Anybody here a psych major?

chance me threads give good constructive criticism to young eager minds going to college…
I conclude…the show…must…go on. Chance me!

SBR, I made a thread so everyone who wants to be chanced can post in it, lets see how it goes…

Chance threads have been on CC forever in the school forums and they probably always will. The individual “chance me” forum may alleviate some of the clutter, but I think its ok for interested people, particularly those who have Duke as their first choice, to ask Duke students about admission requirements. I remember when i was a prospective applicant, the advice I received on this individual forum was way more helpful than any I posted on the “chance me” forum. Just my opinion.
