“If there is no sun we will all die, DrGoogle. Case closed.”
But…what do you mean? Most years in Seattle, we live without sun for months, and we don’t die. Mold a little bit, maybe.

As for where to live to avoid more natural disasters:
The Northwest on a cliff.
Most of the Great Lakes region should be alright. Just don’t introduce fracking in to your neighborhood.
I see there is a lot of manipulation under the name of climate change and I’m nervous. There will be some guy like Al Gores and hedge fund who are ready to take advantage of anything passes like the carbon tax.
For example, gas is the cheapest in the last few weeks but Californian has to pay high prices. Why? Summer blend.
More of this type, non market manipulation and a lot of people will be suffer. Then I see the guy that was pushing for all these climate change come on CC complain again. Unintended consequences.
Just like water shortage, 25% cut, now some of the sewage pipe is having problem like cracking because less water is going down the sewage system. It was on the news recently.
Emeraldkity4, the tone was set pretty quickly. I am ignorant but I have strong opinions. Sounds like my mother.
Do some posts on this thread have a little Firesign Theater similarity? I was a little young when I listened to those comedy bits. I didn’t understand the routines.
We have some very bright posters here. Musicprnt, bclintonk, saintfan, etc…
There should probably be a thread about what communities are actually doing to combat climate change.
My community is looking at sea walls, raising buildings off the ground, burying co2, more solar installations…
But it doesn’t matter because climate change is not an issue.
Who is the guy supporting the carbon tax? Maybe we can get a reason why?
And don’t come crying to us when you (not you, Purple, general “you”) run out of water! Great Lakes belong to those who didn’t attempt to make a desert into a metropolis…
And the guy that lives is Tiburon is complaining about income inequality when he drinks $950 bottle of wine. Hypocrisy. Yes his friend ordered it. Not him ever.
Don’t count on the PNW . . . we’re still waiting on the big one as The New Yorker has so graciously reminded me this week.

Notice you left out yourself. Or maybe that’s part of the etc?
“There should probably be a thread about what communities are actually doing to combat climate change”
That might be an interesting thread. Most of the time it seems like climate change is all talk, and no action.
For my part tonight, I’m eating wild salmon. No methane producing cattle died for my supper!
Oh jeez, saintfan, what a killjoy you are!
No doubt climate change is going to be the cause of the big earthquake that kills us all!
Maybe I should just go for the methane producing cattle for dinner, since I’m in CA, and everyone here’s a goner anyways.
Nope, unrelated . . . Purple Titan just suggested that we might provide a little pocket of immunity from natural disasters.
I live in a pretty conservative community in a fairly conservative state. My community isn’t doing jack and the only time the people in charge here even notice is when they have to walk further out on the docks to get to their yachts (due to lower water levels).
I help conserve by drinking tap water rather than bottled water… after all, I drink the same water from my tap as everyone does who buys Absopure water
(the bottling plant is just a few miles from me).
We’re probably still a couple decades from this being feasible on a large scale but okay. Now how do we grow grains? They’re still going to be grown outside, on fields. And if we could no longer grow them in Texas and Arkansas that would be disasterous.
Ann Arbor and Canton/Livonia (I forgot where you said you live but it was around there right?) are not conservative cities in conservative states unless you moved.
don’t move to Wyoming as scientist predict that Yellowstone will blow.
Do we need to eat grain? Have you read Grain brain or Brain Grain.
I found that there seems to be an operative from Pelosi or her crowd who frequents CC.
What we’ll need to eat more of is sea vegetables since ocean levels are rising and they will become more plentiful. And filter feeders like oysters and mussels since they don’t need to be fed other animals.
'Nope, unrelated . . . Purple Titan just suggested that we might provide a little pocket of immunity from natural disasters."
I was joking that earthquakes were caused by climate change…didn’t someone just declare that? I’m thinking maybe it was the great scholar, Samuel L Jackson? Besides, everyone knows that earthquakes are the wrath of God, anyways. Probably the big guy will eventually become disgusted by our tendency to wear too much athletic wear, and socks with sandals, and turn the big one loose upon us.
We need to develop gills like ocean fish so we can survive in sea water. Who needs regular water.
