Hi all,

I just received an F.A. grade for two of my classes for midterm that has the same idiotic teacher. I told the teacher that I had an ear infection which was true but that didn’t work. The teacher was still upset and said I need “legitimate” proof.

FA might mean “failure due to absences” or “absent for the final.” How to fix it probably depends on school or district policy. Talk to a counselor.

You’re going to have to speak to someone at your school directly. What’s true at one school might not be true at yours. Your advisor might be able to point you in the right direction, if you’re not comfortable speaking to the professor.

Also, in general, you need to have documentation of a medical excuse to miss a midterm or reschedule it. Most professors will expect a note from a doctor or something similar as proof, rather than just taking your word for it.
