I messed up my freshman year and half of my sophmore with some D’s and F’s after that i got good grades A’s B’s and a little bit of C’s. I want to go to USC, UC Santa Barbara or University of Arizona. Im live in California.

I heard UC’s refuse to accept people with D’s and F’s, unless there are very special circumstances. I think they also require AT LEAST a 3.0. Probably the same for USC. It’s great that you have improved (colleges like that almost as much as consistently good grades), but because of your D’s and F’s, you may suffer. Did you retake those failed classes and get better grades? I think the old grades still stay on your transcript, but it still looks better than leaving them as is.

I know someone with one D who got into UCSB. However, I’m not sure if they’ll accept multiple ones. Your best shot is probably to enroll in a guaranteed UC transfer program from a community college.

USC is also fairly difficult to get into. I don’t know much about University of Arizona.

Is there any way you could do summer school or something to replace those grades with better grades? UofA is a pretty good state college and I don’t think they would accept someone with multiple Ds and Fs without special cirtumstances (prolonged illness, etc). Doing well on the SATs and continuing to get As and Bs will certainly help you though.
