I transferred from an urban to a magnet school this year. We didn’t have as many AP classes, and this new school is really small, so my rank is only within the top 25% of this new school, but I was # 1 at my old school.
Could I get into Harvard with this rank? My GPA’s 4.47 W and 3.9 UW

I’m sure they don’t care if your rank is artificially low because of transferring.

IIRC, there was a girl on these boards (Lirazel) who did.

Why would they penalize you for something that you couldn’t control?

IIRC?
By the way, she got double legacy

If I recall correctly.

She wasn’t a legacy at Columbia, though, and she was accepted there as well. Reality sometimes contradicts our conventional wisdom, it seems.

(lol, CC stalking, I’ve hit rock bottom I swear.)

IIRC = if I recall correctly

You can, but you better give them a good reason to lower their % in the top 10% stat.

Haha, I just stalked her, too. She also had a national championship in something or other, which probably helped…

No. There are plenty of students who are below (not by 50% or something) the 10% mark.

Also, consider prep schools like Andover and Chote. These schools, it doesn’t matter what your rank is for obvious reasons. (Of course, you can’t be failing…)
