Can you go to college anytime?

I know you can get your degree anytime, meaning no age requirements minimum, maximum to attend college. I’m interested though at some of the schools you guys are at, the population of 25 and over undergrads.

Most elite private schools have a negligable population of age 25+ undergrads. Big state schools will be the “best” schools with a lot of non-traditionally aged students.

A lot of “commuter” state schools have huge populations of 25+ undergrads.

I think the key thing to recognize here is not that the elite private schools are out of reach for non-trad students, but that commuter state schools are likely to offer more night classes and be in locations where it’s easier for non-trads to maintain their current activities, commitments and responsibilities. Packing up and moving to Boston or San Francisco or wherever is typically not an option for these students.

I know a teacher who went to NYU when she was 30
