Can you guys look at this job

I want you guys to read the job qualifications/roles for this position and tell me what exactly does the job do? What is an avoid Daily Reader? Do they mean avid? Do one just review the newspaper and give it recommendations?

http://www.mndaily.com/jobs/374

Thanks

That is so funny that there’s a typo in such a critical spot! Maybe a Freudian slip? Yes, they mean avid, so that would mean a person who is familiar with the publication inside and out.

As far as what the board of directors does, I think that is very clearly spelled out in the ad.

Because the post is unpaid, you’d be doing it for prestige and to make contacts.

It’s not a job, it’s a board position. unpaid. typo- let them know. if you have to ask you aren’t a good person for the position.

There seems to be a lot of non-parents clogging up this part of CC lately.

I personally don’t mind giving parental type advice to kids.

Thanks for the help, parents.

Actually I’d like to see a section just for kids seeking advice from parents. That would be cool.

Kenny - I’d run in the other direction on this one. All of the responsibilities basically boil down to setting up a bunch of processes, procedures, and policies that everyone else will B**ch and complain to you about when things go wrong, argue that what you are trying to do will never work, and then blame you when nothing ever gets done.

It also sounds like the person who wrote the advert must have "procured’ the description from a corporate type of high level executive board position as no student could ever possibly be able to be expected to have these skills.

Disclaimer: Maybe a grad student with 15+ years experience in accounting or the like might have the requisite experience.
