Can you list colleges that actively recruit students by giving generous scholarships?

I am not looking for Ivy Leagues. More around the line of up and coming colleges having a lot of money to spare.

read the third sticky on this forum

I would like to hear about college tht actively recruit students based on academic merit like the way student athletes are recruited by colleges.
Colleges with large endowments and seeking to get a lot of students with good SATs,etc to increase the college ranking and such.

The colleges with large endowments tend to be top colleges. There are, however, many merit aid schools that will often give you big $$ if you are in the top 5-10% of accepted applicants.

To name a few of those colleges?
My SAT CR+Math 1440

Are you a national merit finalist?

No. N I did not take PSAT.

Read the sticky. Most colleges don’t recruit like they do for athletes, but they do offer scholarship $.

Ohio University will give you in-state tuition plus $4500 for the OOS surcharge.

“colleges having a lot of money to spare”

With the possible exception of the service academies, I don’t think any college has a lot of money to spare.

standrews, with the current war ongoing and bills to pay, the service academies don’t have any $ to spare. I believe they have actually retracted (fewer students going through than a few years ago).

USC Columbia is GREAT with giving merit aid to top OOS-ers. UNC was also very good to me but you must be TOP-NOTCH to be looking there for money.

What’s wrong with this picture. If I read right you are a URM with a 1440 and decent GPA. Why would Drexel level schools not be making it possibe for you to go?

University of Pittsburgh is another possibility for a full tuition scholarship.

if ur a florida resident you can get loadsa moolah. I got 3500 a year for just getting accepted to the honors college of FAU. And I got the bright futures scholarship which pays for 75 percent of my tuition. And florida education’s cheap anywyas, so i only need to rake up 3k for next year. I suggest moving to FL!!!

Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Has good sports teams and a good honor’s program. Also, an 8 year college to med school program with Albany Med, and a 3/2 engineering program with RPI. Excellent science equipment. My son got the most money there of his 6 admissions although several others were generous too.

Emory University is a wonderful school and gives a lot of merit aid through the Emory Scholars program (apply by Nov 1st, non-binding, does not restrict you from any SCEA decisions). The process is highly competitive.

I think Emory just got a windfall from Coca Cola.

I applied in November for the BS/MD at Siena but I didnt get it.
