Can you make actual change in the country as a college student?

I came into college with the idea that I was going to do all of these great things, and I joined some clubs that were compatible with my goals. I figured that joining organizations that were already established would serve as a pretty solid launch pad for becoming active and accomplishing my goals.
But the clubs I have been to are j o k e s. I don’t mean to sound arrogant or elitist or anything - these clubs were ridiculous. Most of the meetings consisted of 5-10 people just kicking it, basically. Leaders spent minimal time addressing the issues the club was associated with and, when they did, were disorganized and seemed pretty clueless.
I’m feeling a little disillusioned.

You can make change as a college student. But not when you limit yourself to do-nothing clubs. I think you know that. Go find an established organization or ways the college itself supports action.

Maybe you can try starting your own club?

Like barrk123 and lookingforward said, it seems like you may need to either find another organization to attend that actually does something, or make your own club.
