Can you park near local businesses?

Hi. I’ll be having a car on campus but I’ll be commuting from home which is 10 minutes by car. There are a lot of restraurants, boba places, etc (e.g. south Vermont and 36th) near USC with a lot of parking spaces.

Would anyone notice and if they did cite me for a parking violation if I parked there for 3-4 hours?

Likely get towed if you do it a lot.

You’ll get towed from that parking lot, just find open street parking on a residential street.

They will tow from the parking lots because those get super crowded during the day. You can try street parking but that is very, very tight. Your best bet is to get a permit at the Parking Center, which is significantly cheaper than the on campus structures.

Yeah, I wouldn’t risk it. It might difficult to find spots everyday due to street sweeping on certain days, so if you plan on doing this all semester…just prepare to leave extra early incase you cannot find a spot. I always find some open spots on Orchard Ave.
