Can you pay for Penn if parents will not help pay or co-sign loans?

<p>I would love to go to Penn or at least consider it for my undergrad. My parents are less thrilled for various other reasons. The expenses I am talking about here are around +/- 12,000 per year.</p>

<p>They will not pay the expected family contribution for Penn. </p>

<p>They will not co-sign any loans so that I could pay for it.</p>

<p>The above two will not change under any circumstances whatsoever.</p>

<p>Is it over?</p>

<p>It’s doable – I did it and with even more debt. But it wasn’t good for my mental/physical health and it really got hard to manage finances/costs and school all at once. Just make sure you have a plan going in. If you’re covering your own day-to-day expenses as well, it’s going to also be tough. Shoot me a PM if you want more details. It’s really, really, really hard and you absolutely need to know what you’re doing.</p>
