CAN KNOWLEDGE BE A BURDEN RATHER THAN A BENEFIT?

Knowledge will always be a benefit, not only for us, but also for the society we are living in. Doctors have knowledge, so they can cure people and politicians know very well how to manage a country so the can find solutions for problems. Without knowledge people cannot succeed.

I remember last year I had a disease called “Dengue”. This disease is produced when a mosquito “Aedes Aegypti” bites a person and after 15 days or less, the person starts having fever. It has killed thousands of people in my country. As I was sick, I went to the doctor and told him that I had dengue. What amazed me was that he said to me “Don’t worry, I will cure you”. That tone of security he had was totally refreshing for me, and I started feeling more relaxed. He knew exactly what to do, and he cured me. Because of his knowledge now I’m prefectly healthy. He es an excellent doctor here in my country and he holds many conferences of medicine around the world. What I can conclude about this anecdote, is that knowledge can solve many problems and save lots of people.

My dad has a politician friend, who worksfor my country as a senator. He is very intelligent, because he prepared himself to be a person who is ready to help the country, studying in more than four countries. The capacity he has to create ideas and solutions for the paraguayan society is amazing. The jail for minors in Paraguay was having problems regarding that they were having guns inside the jail, and the guards were involved, because they let the prisoners have guns in exchange for money and drugs. As this problem is common in my country, sometimes it is difficult to deal with. After thinking for days, the senator found a solution. All the guards involved in that crime were going to be fired and instead fo public guards, private guards were going to be in charge to protect the jail. And not only that, the senator prepared a project where the prisoners could study and work inside te jail, so they prepare themselves to reintegrate into society in the future. His knowledge of the law of my country and his knowledge of how to manage problems helped the senator to came up with these ideas, that now are having possitive effect in my country.

Knowledge can never be a burden, on the contrary, it can help solve many problems, as the senator did. I think that the more people prepare themselves studying, reading and doing thins to enrich their knowledge, the better society, country and world we would have.

You need personal, studies, observations etc not just one story. Also you don’t have any vocab or English idioms to express your mastery of the English language
